The Art of Guitar

Description:  In this camp, students will learn and share knowledge with their peers to increase their appreciation and understanding of the guitar. 

Join us for a jam-packed week where you will eat, sleep, and breathe guitar! We will focus on the diverse and eclectic nature of the guitar by looking at different approaches to the instrument within various genres. The industry’s top professionals will help young, budding guitarists with all the essentials that every guitar player needs to master, including jam sessions, group instruction, music theory & ear training, guitar setup & maintenance, music history, and much more. CLASSIC ROCK - Tribute to the 60s and 70s

Date: JULY 8^th - 12^th 

Time: 9 am - 3 pm

Level: Ideal for kids 7-16 years of age who have had previous instruction.

Description: In this camp, students will learn songs by artists and bands from the 1960s & 1970s.

The 1960s experienced a cultural and musical revolution that produced the most influential artists of popular music.  It was a decade filled with groundbreaking bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and the Motown era that still resonate with kids today. As the decade turned to the 70s bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, KISS, The Ramones, and Black Sabbath rose to the top as hard rock, heavy metal, and punk rock took over the airwaves. This camp will pay tribute to these all-time classic bands. To supplement this musical experience kids will learn about the history and performance art unique to the 60s & 70s. The week will culminate with a live performance on Friday at 2 pm.

Tribute to the 90s

Date: JULY 15^th - 19^th 

Time: 9 am - 3 pm

Level: Ideal for kids 7-16 years of age who have had previous instruction.

Description: In this camp, students will learn songs by artists and bands from the 1990s.

The 1990s produced some of the best rock bands of all time thanks to the emergence of grunge and alternative music which continue to inspire new generations of musicians. This camp will pay tribute to bands and artists like Nirvana, Weezer, Green Day, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots. To supplement this musical experience kids will learn about the history and performance art unique to the 90s. The week will culminate with a live performance on Friday at 2 pm.

SONGWRITING CAMP 

Date: JULY 22^nd - 26^th 

Time: 11 am - 2 pm

Level: Ideal for kids 9-16 years of age who have at least one year of experience with their instrument.

Cost: $325

Description: In this camp, students will learn how to compose a song. 

Whether you’re not sure where to begin when it comes to writing a song, or you want to take your songwriting skills to the next level, this camp has you covered! Students will learn about the three essential elements of songwriting: harmony, melody, and lyrics. In addition to studying a variety of songs, students will also engage in games and activities to get the creativity flowing. All students will have an opportunity to perform their song with a live performance on Friday at 2 pm. 

METAL CAMP

Date: JULY 29^th - August 2^nd 

Time: 9 am - 3 pm

Level: Ideal for kids 7-16 years of age who have had previous instruction.

Description: In this camp, kids will learn METAL!!!!

All METAL all day! Come learn the tricks of the trade used by the pros that you need to go up to 11! Kids will learn the unique language of METAL by stage-diving into the rhythms and melodic characteristics that define this incredible genre. To supplement this musical experience kids will learn about the history and performance art unique to METAL. The week will culminate with a live METAL on Friday at 2 pm.

MODERN ROCK CAMP - A TRIBUTE to the 2000s & BEYOND

Date: August 5^th - 9^th 

Time: 9 am - 3 pm

Level: Ideal for kids 7-16 years of age who have had previous instruction.

Description: In this camp, students will learn songs by artists and bands from the 2000s, 2010s, & 2020s.

The 21^st century has seen an astounding resurgence in pop rock/punk, nu-metal, post-grunge, synth-pop, and indie rock. In addition, the most successful bands of decades past, such as Green Day, Blink-182, and Foo Fighters continued their success. We will be putting it all together for this week of camp paying tribute to this century's finest. To supplement this musical experience kids will learn about the history and performance art unique to the 21^st century. The week will culminate with a live performance on Friday at 2 pm.
